Energy Materials in Circular Economy meet X-rays & neutrons
Organizer: ESRF, ILL, PSI | Location: Grenoble, France
Dates: 19-22 Nov. 2024
Description: “The workshop aims to bring expert users of Research Infrastructure facilities together with circular materials researchers curious about the advanced techniques available for electrochemistry and energy materials at the three host research infrastructures. You can expect presentations on cutting-edge development in the field of energy materials, from harvesting (e.g., solar panels) to storing (e.g., batteries and fuel cells) and conversion (e.g., electrolyzers), with examples of circular materials research. Instrumentation scientists will present some of the techniques available and there will be an opportunity to visit the ESRF and ILL laboratories.”

Application of ReMade-at-ARI characterization methods to recyclable materials
Organizer: NPI | Location: Prague, Czechia
Dates: 22-23 May 2025
Description: “Expect to be amazed by presentations about advanced techniques harnessing ion and neutron beams, along with electrons, positrons, and high magnetic fields, to revolutionize the characterisation of recyclable materials. Explore methods for the deposition and preparation of nanostructures, microstructures, and surfaces. The agenda will also include talks from ReMade@ARI users to showcase network capabilities and project outcome, and an excursion to the ion and neutron beam infrastructures in Prague. Targeting mainly academic audience but industrial attendees may also find interest in the workshop content.”
Laser spectroscopy and photonic technologies for circular economy – Advancing sustainable innovations in material research and diagnostics
Organizer: FORTH, Polimi | Location: Heraklion, Greece
Dates: 19-20 June 2025
Description: “The workshop will primarily focus on laser spectroscopy, imaging, and sensing technologies, exploring their critical role in material research, diagnostics, and sustainable innovation. Participants will gain insights into how these advanced photonics techniques enable precise material characterisation, real-time monitoring, and efficient resource managment – key drivers for circular economy solutions. Through expert talks, hands-on sessions, and interactive discussions, the workshop will highlight the versatility and impact of these technologies across research and industry. Will be held in FORTH’s premises to allow easy, frequent access to laboratories. The event is endorsed by Laserlab-Europe through EU’s Horizon Europe co-funded project Lasers4EU.”

Training Helpdesk
Send us an email to training@remade-project.eu if you require advice on the training actions available through ReMade@ARI.
We can help you to:
- identify an expert within the consortium to give a talk at an event on a subject/technique relevant to advanced materials characterization
- organize training for a group of scientists on a specific advanced materials characterization technique available through Remade@ARI, in view of submitting a ReMade proposal
- obtain specific, one –to-one training following a ReMade experiment (e.g. on data analysis) to maximize scientific output related to a ReMade proposal.
- disseminate within the ReMade@ARI consortium / user community information on training events and actions relevant to material research towards a Circular Economy
